Elementary School

An elementary school is the main point of delivery of primary education in the United States, for children between the ages of 4–14 and coming between pre-kindergarten and secondary education.

In 2001, there were 92,858 elementary schools (68,173 public, 24,685 private) in the United States, a figure which includes all schools that teach students from grade one through grade eight. According to the National Center for Education Statistics, in the fall of 2009 almost 3.5 million students attended public primary schools. It is usually from kindergarten through sixth grade.

 The government and local body primary schools located in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation limits are getting a facelift under the State government’s Mana Basti – Mana Badi programme.

Home Minister, Mohd Mahmood Ali, Mayor Vijaya Lakshmi, Khairatabad MLA, D Nagender and others attended the meeting.

Srinivas Yadav said Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has formulated the scheme to make sure all the government and local body primary schools get a complete makeover and under the programme, 687 schools in the city will soon get a facelift. During the meeting, the officials were also instructed about the rules and payment modules that need to be followed while developing the infrastructure of the schools.
